On the 25th of May students of the SCM master program had the opportunity to visit the production site of Volskwagen in Bratislava where small cars like VW up! and SUVs like VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7 are produced.

First, a short video was shown about the company and the structure of the production plant in order to get an overview about the processes we were about to see. During the plant tour we got an insight into the production step by step, beginning with the storage of raw materials through the fully automatized cutting machines for the doors until the body of the car is assemled along with interesting facts about them. We saw how autonomously driving trolleys deliver the components to the place where is it needed. It was interesting to see how automated the production itself is. Finally, we were allowed to check out and sit in the newest Volkswagen Touareg and Audi models in the shop.
