On November 29th, 14 students of the Supply Chain Management Master Vienna participated in a workshop with Accenture at WU. The topic of the evening “Strategy Workshop – Consultant for One Night”, included a brief presentation of the consultants (incl. 2 SCM Alumni) followed by 3 different games, where the participants could apply theories about the prisoner´s dilemma, personality styles, and new technologies.
To begin, the alumni Jan Gottstein and his team talked about Accenture as a company, its business model and global presence followed by a short presentation of a possible career path in the company. Thereafter, the three games were presented, and the participants split into 3 groups. With the support of 1 or 2 Accenture consultants the SCM students played several rounds and discussed the practical relevance of the findings. As a result, every group gained important insights into a consultant´s life. Afterwards, Accenture invited all participants to a get-together with food and drinks in order to give the students the possibility to talk face-to-face to the instructors and gain additional information about their work at Accenture.
